MOIRA AND PEDRO – THE DAY…(photos by ewan)

For her 25th birthday Moira didn’t quite know what to expect from Pedro. Would he get her a card? Send her flowers? Bake her a cake? She knew whatever he did would be perfect, but little did she know he was planning the biggest birthday surprise of her life. It would be a birthday she’d never forget. He was sure of it.

For the big occasion Pedro surprised Moira with a trip to New York. Wining. Dining. And touring the whole city. They took in everything they could. Moira really wanted to go to the Empire State Building, but Pedro kept putting it off. Maybe later. In a little bit. Maybe tonight. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go. Actually the exact opposite. He just wanted to go in the evening so everything would be perfect. He just had to figure out how to delay things a little bit longer. Maybe some shopping would take her mind off getting there.

Finally it was time. The sky was filled with the lights of the sunset. Pinks. Oranges. Yellows. And then the stars came out one by one. All around them the sky was painting a picture just for them. As they rode up the elevator Pedro asked someone to take their picture. A memory for later he told Moira. Then as the camera was on them, Pedro dropped to one knee. Pulled the ring from his pocket. And asked Moira to marry him. There in the Empire State Building. With the night sky all around them. And the whole thing on film. And even though it was a birthday she’ll never forget, the pictures are the perfect memory of the best birthday present she’s ever had.
