LENNA AND MIKE – THE DAY…(photos by ewan)

My favourite moment at every wedding is the father daughter dance. I don’t know why exactly. I can’t put it into words or explain it. I don’t know if words would even do the feelings justice. But when we are photographing this dance I always find myself daydreaming about when Ewan will have this moment with our daughters. And I get all teary eyed, taking photos with tears streaming down behind the camera. That connection of family always warms my heart.

I had this feeling the entire day at Lenna and Mike’s wedding. Warm fuzzies. Warmth and welcoming. A full heart. Every single moment of the day was about family. The joining of two families together. And tradition. It was so beautiful to be welcomed into such a personal celebration and watch the traditions take place that have been passed down from one generation to the next. And it didn’t feel like we were working. Or observing. Or just catching a glimpse into someone’s world. It felt like we were part of it. Welcomed into the family and part of the celebration. Thank you Lenna and Mike (and your families) for inviting us to share in such a special day and for making us feel so at home. We’re so happy for you!
