You are our quiet thinker. The day you were born you came into the world without so much as a peep. For what seemed like minutes the doctors tried to get you to cry. Whine. Squeal. Anything. But you just weren’t interested. You were much more content to be quiet. Leaving us all to wonder. Right from the beginning you were silently strong.
Fast forward 4 years and things are still the same. You are happy to sit and read books for hours on end. Even when we play dolls you make their voices oh so tiny, barely audible to anyone, even if only inches away. We’ll often see your long red curls bounce through the room before we hear you. And when you do speak it’s quiet and gentle. Thoughtful and witty. Like you’ve been saving up your thoughts for hours waiting for the perfect moment to join the conversation. I think you’re a class clown in waiting. Or a powerful politician, saving your voice for when you’re all grown up.
Sarah Elizabeth, you are one of the sweetest little girls on the entire planet. You listen patiently to others and with the kindest eyes. Resting a gentle hand on our arms like an 80 year old grandma with a giant heart. We wish you big things with that tiny little voice. You are going to take this world by storm with that red hair and silent strength. We love you and are so proud of you on your 4th birthday and always. Happy birthday to our sweet baby girl!
