ERIN AND GAVIN – THE QUESTION…(photos by ewan)

It was December 31st. Erin had just entered a new renaissance phase of her life. The guy she was dating wasn’t quite right. Wrong for her. And not a good fit. She wanted to start the new year on her own terms. A fresh start. That night as she left her not-quite-right-fit boyfriend at home and headed out with her girlfriends. For the first time in years she felt at peace and empowered.

The pub wasn’t very busy, but Erin didn’t mind. She had her friends by her side and a new lease on life. A couple hours into the evening she saw him. He was smiling. He was happy. Jovial even. He walked up to a mutual friend they both shared and hugged her. She heard from across the room, “sometimes you’re fun and I like when you’re fun. Sometimes you’re not so fun and I like that about you too”. Erin laughed as she saw that he understood the complex side of women and thought that he was exactly the type of man she needed to be with.

From across the room Gavin noticed her too and headed over to the table she was at. “Today’s my birthday” he said and someone bought a round of shots. Prairie Fires. Tequila and Tabasco, not exactly something Erin was interested in trying. But she couldn’t deny the cute boy a birthday toast, so down it went. They were terrible. And so was the next one. And the next. But three Prairie Fires later there was a life time connection built between Erin and Gavin. They were both hooked.

As midnight neared, Gavin sneakily programmed his number into Erin’s phone. At the strike of 12 he kissed her on cheek with a loud ‘muah’. That night as they parted ways he cupped her face with both his hands. Looked into her eyes. Said, ‘If you ever become single, you have to call me’. And kissed her on both cheeks. As they parted ways that night they both knew that it was only the beginning. Of a new year. A new relationship. And a new future. Together.

- Erin and Gavin, we’ve never been so warmly welcomed into someone’s home as when we showed up at yours. Gavin wearing his awesome Star Wars t-shirt. Your mom offering us champagne and strawberries. And gigantic smiles from everyone. It felt like we were being welcomed in by family. We can’t wait for your big day!
