DANIELLE AND BRODIE – THE DAY…(photos by ewan)

He would do anything for her. Climb a mountain. Jump in front of a speeding train. Even walk 14km just for a tea. Whatever it took to make her happy.

While traveling out West, Danielle and Brodie visited Lake Louise. The scenery was beautiful. The air smelled fresh. And everything was quiet. It was perfect. Except that Danielle had a craving for tea. She convinced Brodie to walk to the tea house with her, promising it was just around the lake. Enjoying the walk, they were at the end of the lake before they knew it. But there was no tea house in sight. Danielle kept saying ‘just a little further‘ as they wandered along. Further and further. As the temperature dropped, the lake slid away in the distance. Just a speck behind them far away. As the miles passed Brodie tried to keep smiling and Danielle kept trying to insist that they’d be there any minute now. All she wanted was a tea. All he wanted was for her to be happy.

Hours later there it was. They hurried inside together. Cold. Tired. Hungry. And craving a warm tea to shake the chills from their bodies. As they excitedly placed their orders they suddenly realized that the tea house didn’t take Interact. And they had left their cash back in the car. So very far away. As Brodie dug in his pockets he came up with some loose change. Just enough for one tea. Even though they were both starving, he ordered Danielle a warm drink. The smile all on her face was all he needed to warm up. And the 14km walk had been worth every step.
