A few days after I had our first baby I stood in the shower and looked down at my belly. And cried. Sobbed. Sobbed so loudly that Ewan came running into the bathroom to make sure that I wasn’t hurt. Between breaths I tried to explain that I felt like Jabba the Hut. But the words in my head didn’t quite make it out of my mouth and Ewan couldn’t figure out what was wrong. So he hopped in the shower with me, fully clothed, and held me. Held me tightly and let me cry on his brand new sweater. He told me I was beautiful and that motherhood was beautiful. That my belly would return to normal and that my stretch marks were cute like a tiger’s stripes. And as we laughed about my tiger stripes I realized in that moment that being a mother was the most beautiful feeling in the world and that every stretch mark was worth it. Being a mom was beautiful….
We have had the recent privilege of being a part of Hot Moms for Charity. This is a group of moms who are organizing local events to raise funds for mother and child based charities. Six women came together to pose for a calendar to raise money. And that title of their group couldn’t be more true – they are all beautiful, sexy, hot moms. Being involved in this project got us thinking about feeling good about your body as a mom. Sometimes we’re so surrounded by spit up, dirty diapers and piles of laundry that it’s hard to remember that we’re sexy. It’s hard to remember what it’s like to do our hair, paint our nails and put on a little black dress. It just gets lost some days. As so we’ve introduced MILph - Moms I’d Like To Photograph. This is similar to our boudoir sessions, but for moms who want to have sexy photos taken while maybe not bearing it all. Yaira was our first mom to do a MILph session and truly epitomizes being a sexy mom. She rocked it in front of the camera. For more information about a session, shoot us a quick email and we’re happy to go over all of the details. And please make sure to check out the Hot Moms for Charity website for more details about their calendar being launched on November 27th @ Cello Restaurant.
