ASHLEY AND JONATHAN – THE QUESTION…(photos by ewan)

Sunday is our favourite day of the week. We sleep in late. The girls crawl into bed with us and we watch cartoons. Eat cereal right out of the box. And stay in our pyjamas as long as possible. There’s usually a big meal. A visit to the park. Colouring. Dress up. And when the girls are tucked away in bed, a movie and popcorn for just the two of us. We look forward to it all week long. Sundays are the day we just can’t help but love.

For Ashley and Jonathan, Sunday is also their favourite day. They take Rusty, their golden retriever, for a long walk around the neighbourhood. Sometimes twice. They lounge around the house. Relaxing. Napping. Reading. Whatever feels just right. They spend the evening making a nice dinner together. Smile at each other across the table as the share it. And then curl up to watch a movie together, while enjoying a glass of red wine. It’s never anything wildly exciting. Or extravagant or previously planned. Ashley and Jonathan just take the day one hour at a time, seeing where they end up. And if that means they still end up in their pyjamas at 1 in the afternoon, that’s okay. Because Sundays are their favourite. And the day that they can’t help but love. Sundays are their day.

Uncle Paul - Wow, both of you look so great! Ashley does look beautiful and Jonathan has that rugged model look. What a unique photo shoot and so cool to share it this way!
In comparison to what I expected (i.e. posed in front of a studio backdrop, sitting on a chair, etc.), this is a breath of fresh of air (pardon the pun!)
Looking forward to the wedding:-)

Ashley and Jonathan (Bride and Groom) - Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments (except you Aunt Nancy…I like my scruffy face, and razors are expensive!). We’re so thrilled to have had these wonderful photos taken of us and we’ll certainly cherish them through all our years. All the wedding planning is coming together and in no time we’ll be ready for the second round of photos. Ewan, let’s hope for some cooler weather at the wedding, eh? Thank you SO MUCH for spending time with us!

jen berry - ok. so i wish i could comment on every post of yours, but lately life has been so busy. you two are amazing artists, writers, and “friends”. your words are personal, yet universal. i have to say the “dreamy” shot (aka out of focus) is magical. it’s like there is a lil heart of light above their hands. these photos are sexy, yet romantic. there is such a trust between your clients and you. it’s so apparent in each shot. you allow them to be themselves. gorgeous

A&J - I usually have a preference towards urban sessions but this nature one is gorgeous. I love the shot of them sitting on the stump and the 6th one down. I love too the crisp green in the photos and the earthiness to them :)
