In the end he kissed her head and told her that everything would be okay…
In the weeks leading up to the wedding nothing seemed to be going right. Jessica found herself in need of emergency dental surgery. And she wasn’t feeling well. Really really not well. The surgery was canceled at the last minute when she found out she had pneumonia. The giant bruise from the very large needle that was used to check the fluid in her lungs wasn’t exactly the something blue she had hoped for. Squeaky voice. Chest pains and lack of sleep : it was an un-ending streak of bad luck. So sick she could barely get through the last few days, Jessica wasn’t sure she’d even have the strength to walk down the aisle. With one thing after another thing, she was convinced that the entire wedding was going to be a disaster.
A couple of nights before the wedding Jessica and Bj were talking about last minute things that needed to be done. And about everything that had happened in the days leading up to the wedding. Suddenly they burst out laughing. Loud. Silly laughter. They looked at each other and realized that it didn’t matter. Pneumonia or not. Sore teeth or not. Bruises or not. None of it mattered. They were getting married that weekend and everything was going to be okay. Bj smiled at Jessica. Took her in his arms. Kissed her head. And whispered to her that as long as they were together, nothing else mattered. Because at the end of the day they would be married. And get to spend the rest of their lives together. As husband and wife.
