They met while at school in London. She was waitressing part time and one of his roommates got a job at the same restaurant. Adrienne and the roommate hit it off instantly and started spending lots of time together. Hanging out regularly at her new friend’s house, Adrienne quite literally showed up on Jeff’s doorstep. They crossed paths, but she didn’t give him a second thought. Wasn’t really interested. Didn’t think of him in that way. But Jeff was persistent. He worked hard in an attempt to get Adrienne’s attention and made it clear that he was interested. As the months passed, Adrienne went out on a date with another guy. As the date rambled on about something, she realized that she had no clue what he was talking about. There was a huge, dorky grin spread across her face, but she hadn’t heard a single word that the man had said. The smile she realized, was because she couldn’t stop thinking about Jeff. So she raced home and called her friend, squealing : “I like Jeff”. Little did she know that Jeff happened to be there and her friend was excitedly giving the thumbs up gesture sharing the news. And they started dating right away…
The relationship grew and so did their love. Taking an annual trip every fall to Manhattan, Adrienne and Jeff wanted to incorporate this special event into finding out the gender of their baby. At the 20 week ultrasound, Adrienne brought a card that she had made (or scrapbooked since she was beyond excited). The message inside had two boxes : “It’s a boy” and “It’s a girl”. They asked the tech to check off the gender of the baby and seal the envelope tight. They tucked the card away safely and headed off on their trip. After two days they couldn’t take it any longer. Just couldn’t stop wondering. Had to know. So, there in the middle of Central Park they sat on a bench together and held hands. And opened the card. Although Jeff thought he didn’t have a preference, when he opened the card a smile broke across his face from ear to ear : “It’s a boy”! After hugs and cheers, he immediately started calling everyone to share the news that they were going to have a son. It was the best news he could ever hope to hear and it was the best trip to Manhattan that they had ever shared :)
Adrienne and Jeff, you are quite possibly the cutest mommy and daddy-to-be that we’ve ever met. Your excitement is so obvious to anyone you meet and we can tell how much you already love that little boy before he’s even made his debut. We can’t wait to meet him and good luck with the rest of the pregnancy!
