Hello Sunday, welcome back again. Why can’t you stick around to visit a little bit longer?
1. Sundays are family day. We sleep in. Go out for brunch. Have a long nap. Read books. Go for walks. It’s for lazy quiet family time. Today we went out for brunch and Rachel’s came to the table first. Except something extra seemed to be added to her plate. I know that kid’s meals in restaurants aren’t the highest quality of food, but today was extra special. Her meal came out fully heated, but with saran wrap still around it. And a best before sticker that said Saturday (today is Sunday). I’m pretty confident we’ll never be going back there. (The very bad).
2. Sarah Elizabeth is fascinated with the cats. She chases them around, climbs on top of them and sits intently watching them while they eat, sleep or just stare back at her. They’re buddies. One of our cats loves to stick his head in the toilet. He doesn’t take a drink, just likes to stick his head way in there for who knows what reason. So after watching him very carefully on Saturday morning she made her move. After he left the toilet, she went straight over to it, lifted the lid and stuck her head in as far as she could without touching the water. She stood there, looked around very thoughtfully and then laughed like a maniac at me. Apparently her and the cat have an inside joke going on, but I’m pretty sure we need to start closing the bathroom door. (The good).
3. Bandaids. I hate them. Hate them. Loathe them. Hate having them in the house. You may wonder why I’m so against the sticky little bandages and the answer is simple. Rachel. Whenever Rachel gets a bump, a scratch, a mark, a FRECKLE, she insists that she needs a bandaid. And thinks that her entire body has been affected by said bump. On Friday she hit her knee and was convinced that she needed a bandage. And then that her leg was broken. For 24 hours she hobbled around the house pretending that the leg was broken, dragging it behind her like a wounded deer. But the minute the bandaid fell off she informed us that her leg was healed. Oh, the drama. (The entertainingly good).
4. Thanks to so many people for being supportive of our diet. And thanks to our office staff for not killing me as I’ve been a little on the edge since it started last Friday. No chocolate. No Starbucks. No sweets. No pop. No bread or cheese. No smiles. While I know I should be happy I’ve lost four pounds, I’m just hungry and my stomach is angry. Okay, maybe it’s not that bad, but I am pretty sure my body is going into withdrawl from the lack of milk chocolate coursing through my veins. (The good and the bad).
5. Friday was the last wedding for our 2009 season and it was just about a perfect way to end the year. Lots and lots of blog posts coming your way. (The good and the blog).
6. I found an evil evil website yesterday. It’s so evil that you’re not going to want to go there unless you want to throw money on the ground. Or be very very happy :) (The very good).
Happy Sunday!

P.s. Bonus points if you can guess if this is a picture I took of Rachel when she was a baby or a recent picture I took of Sarah Elizabeth!
