It was like coming up for a breath of fresh air…
She was new to the school. It was the first day of grade six and she was the new girl. And only a few aisles over sat Troy. They smiled politely, looked away and continued on with their day. They were at an age where boys and girls didn’t really interact with each other yet, so their first meeting was fairly uneventful.
As they years went on they found themselves in the same high school classes and even at the same University. But still they kept their distance. Hanging out with the same group of friends, but never interacting one-on-one, they shared many of the same experiences over the years, but never shared them together. But after ten years of polite smiles, something happened. The smile changed to a blush. The indifferent eyes turned to longer glances. And there was a connection. At the end of their first date they both knew that they shared something real. As Lindsay excitedly ran home to tell her sister about it, she couldn’t help but share that she knew Troy was the man she was going to marry.
Their love had been unexpected. The whole time it had been in front of them. Right there. Waiting to be found. To know someone for so many years and to truly find them was like the kind of love that fairy tales are made of. Finding each other was like coming up for a breath of fresh air…
