“Good. Because I really do love you”…
After both traveling across the globe to get to Morocco, neither Oz or Lee thought their trips would end with them falling in love with a stranger. But after Oz missed her connecting flight and arrived 10 hours later than planned, and Lee somehow ended up in the same hotel lobby, everything changed. Lee was having trouble communicating in French with the front desk and Oz offered to help. After a quick introduction and brief conversation they headed off to their own rooms to conquer jet lag and agreed to meet up the next day to sightsee together. The next morning there was no mistaking the instant chemistry. Every time Oz and Lee accidentally brushed against each other or touched in any way, sparks flew. There was no playing hard to get. There was no wondering how they other felt. There were no games. Only five days after they met, half asleep Lee couldn’t deny how he felt :
Lee : (half asleep) : “I love you”.
Oz : (half asleep, now wide awake) : “What?!”
Lee : “Nothing, I’m asleep. Don’t listen to me”.
…..long pause….
Oz : “I love you too”.
…..long pause….
Lee : “Good. Because I really do love you”.
As their trips were drawing to a close, Oz and Lee took the same return flight out of London and spent the entire time talking. About where things would go from here. About their relationship. About love. Finally Lee asked Oz if she would tell her family about him. Coming from a conservative Iranian family, Oz had never even talked about boys with her parents. Let alone being in love. Knowing the seriousness of this topic to her parents, Oz said to Lee : “The day I tell my parents about a guy, or bring one home, is the day that they start talking about weddings. You tell me if and when”. After a long pause, Lee took her hand and looked straight into her eyes. With a smile he said, “tell them” and they were engaged only a few months later.
