I grew up on a farm. Running through the fields and the woods was a daily activity for me and always resulted in a new adventure. The best time to run through the fields was very early in the spring in the mornings. Right after breakfast I would take off with our dog Andy and head for the bush at the back of the property. And as I ran through the field it was always still wet with dew. The tall blades of grass would leave the tiniest nicks on my legs, barely noticeable to the eye. But they were there. Small and quiet they left their mark…to be remembered at a later time…
Last night was like running through those fields. It was nearly perfect. We took Rachel and Sarah Elizabeth trick-or-treating and handed out candy. They laughed, Rachel cried at one point from being scared Sarah Elizabeth squealed with delight when Rachel dumped the little bag of candy on the floor to sort. It wasn’t a fancy night. It wasn’t anything that required much money. But it was special. It left little nicks on our hearts. Not visible to anyone else but our family. And those nicks will be one of my favourite memories for many years to come. Not many things can top last night and I’m counting down the days until our little Tigger and Love Bug can get dressed up all over again. (The very very good).
So without further ado, here are a few shots from our trick-or-treating adventures…Happy Sunday!
