GEETA AND SACHA – THE LIFE…

Sometimes the weather just isn’t going to co-operate no matter how hard we try. Every time we had a shoot time booked for Geeta and Sacha it rained…a whole lot of rain. And when we finally got a sunny day and met up for the photos, it started to rain half way through. They were great sports about the weather though and we were able to find all sorts of little hiding spots to avoid the thundering skies.

Geeta and Sacha have been married for a few years, but wanted to have some photos taken of just the two of them before they start their family. I always love this idea because it’s a way to celebrate the love between just the two of you before you become three…or four, or five…

Geeta and Sacha, we loved working with the two of you and hope to see you again when your family starts to grow.

SHANNON AND SEAN – THE QUESTION…

What do you do when the man of your dreams asks you to marry him?

a) Jump up and down like a kid in a candy store.

b) Scream yes so loudly that the neighbours hear you and wonder what all the commotion is about.

c) Throw the ring clear across the room.

While most girls would answer A and B, Shannon still gets teased by Sean that she was so excited that the ring box ended up on the other side of the room. I’m just glad that no one was hurt!

Last New Year’s Eve Shannon and Sean settled in for a quiet night at home. Feeling so overwhelmed with happiness, Shannon thought that she would surprise Sean by being romantic and lighting some candles and opening a bottle of champagne. Sean, certain that Shannon had figured out that he was going to propose that night, started to panic. While Shannon swears she had no clue and was only trying to be romantic, Sean thought his cover was blown and kept questioning what she was up to. While drinking their champagne and daydreaming about their future, Sean quietly slipped the ring box out from underneath a pillow and proposed. Out of pure excitement and shock, Shannon got so excited that she threw the box with the ring inside half way across the room. Overcome with joy, she scrambled to find the ring and, of course, said yes. A little while later Shannon called her parents to share the news and found out that Sean (being a perfect gentleman) had already asked their permission and they were in on the plan all along.

HEIDI AND TONY – THE DAY…

About half our couples choose to do all of their photos before the ceremony. We call this a ‘first look’. The thought behind this is that you get to spend the entire day with your spouse-to-be, have a private moment of seeing each other for the first time (instead of standing in front of 200 people) and then you get to enjoy your cocktail hour and spend time with your guests. It allows for a much more intimate feel to the day and can do wonders for calming nerves. And many of our couples say that they loved getting to have that feeling of butterflies twice on their wedding day – seeing each other for the first time and then again when they got to the aisle.

Heidi and Tony had a sunset ceremony and chose to have their ‘first look’ at Elsie Perrin Williams Estates. Heidi was more than a little bit nervous at the start of the day, but the minute she saw Tony it all melted away. And while you might think it’s the brides who cry most often, it’s actually the grooms. True to that, Tony got very choked up during the ceremony and it was so sweet to see him wearing his heart so openly on his sleeve.

CHRIS AND SANDRA – THE QUESTION…

He started the search for the perfect ring the same way that any man does – at local jewelery stores. But after wandering through every one, he still hadn’t found the ring that jumped out and screamed, “I’m the one”. Deciding that the only way to find the perfect ring was to create it himself, Chris turned to the internet in search of the jeweler who could make his dreams a reality. And luck struck when he found what he was looking for in Israel.

Now with the perfect ring in hand, fast forward to a picture perfect sunset on a warm summer day. Chris and Sandra found themselves on a private horse ride for two on the cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea. Waiting for them at the end of the ride was a table overlooking the sea (complete with wine, cheese, bread and olives). With this little piece of heaven cut out for just the two of them, it was a moment that they’ll never forget.

And to borrow Sandra’s words, what more could a girl ask for!?
