Dawid and Marcie attended the same high school, went to the same parties and events, but just never really crossed paths. It wasn’t until they started working at the same place that they finally officially met. One day in the cafeteria, Marcie was looking down when Dawid walked by. Mistaking him for a co-worker, she made a comment about his shoes. A deep, booming voice responded, and surprised, Marcie looked up and smiled. She still teases him about his size 14’s to this day!
2 years ago, Dawid had planned a romantic summer trip to Quebec city for the two of them. In the process of building their first home together, Marcie thought that they should cancel or postpone the trip and use the money towards their new home. Dawid wasn’t so sure, but caught wind of the fact that Marcie suspected he was going to propose on the trip. He had secretly planned a horse and buggy ride and a surprise picnic overlooking the St. Lawrence. Dawid, following Marcie’s request, agreed to cancel the trip. On bended knee, in a pile of sawdust, Dawid asked Marcie to marry him in the middle of their newly framed home. Complete with a single red rose and a reservation at their favourite restaurant, Marcie said yes. A beautiful memory, but still longing for the romantic trip to Quebec City, they are considering going there on a mini honeymoon this summer before they head for their actual honeymoon in Europe this fall.
