She used to live life on the edge. With little responsibility, she had no one to answer to. For Rachael, she did what she wanted. When she wanted. She was living her dream life…
But then came the day that she took a pregnancy test. She already knew she was pregnant before she took it, she could just feel it. It came up positive. So she took another. And another. And another. After 5 tests she was convinced that yes, she really was pregnant and felt scared, nervous, excited and happy all in the same moment. She was going to be a mom.
After M* was born, her entire life changed. Looking into his eyes, Rachael knew that she wanted to give him the best life she possibly could. Love. Hugs. Support. And letting him know how special he is every single day. In that moment that he was born, a mother was born too. She traded in her heels and dresses for flip flops and sweat pants. Flat irons turned into elastics for pony tails. Sleep was replaced with sleepless nights and buying new clothes for herself was replaced with buying clothes for the baby. But the transition was effortless. Something inside of her knew that she was always meant to be a mother and the material things no longer mattered. Coming and going didn’t matter. And sleep was something she could do without. Now as they dig in the dirt, pick dandelions and watch cartoons together, Rachael knows that this is exactly where she belongs. And that life with M* is better than she could have ever imagined. Better than she could have ever dreamed.
